L'anno mille ottocento quarantanova il di ventidue del mese di Febraro alle ore ventuno avanti di noi Francesco Cali Sindaco ed uffiziale dello stato civile del Comune di Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto Distretto di Castroreale Provincia di Messina, sono comparsi Andrea Tracia, di anni cinquanta, di professione bracciale, regnicolo domiciliato nel Casale di Centineo, e di Antonino Genovese, di anni cinquanta, di professione detto, regnicolo domiciliato ivi, i quale han dichiarato che nel giorno ventuno del mese detto alle ore quattro è morto nella casa di propria abitazione Pietro Miano, d'anni cinquanta, vedovo di Natala Bambaci, nato in questo comune, di professione bracciale, domiciliato come sopra in Centineo, figlio di fu Mariano, di professione un tempo detto, domiciliato come sopra, e di fu Fortunata Genovese, domiciliato egualmente.

Per esecuzione della legge ci siamo trasferiti insieme cui detti testimoni presso la persona defunta, e ne abbiamo riconosciuto la sua effettiva morte. Abiamo indi formato il presente atto, che abbiamo inscritto sopra i due registri, e datane lettura ai dichiaranti, si è nel giorno, mese, ed anno come sopra, segnato da noi li dichiaranto han detto non saper scrivere.

In the year eighteen hundred forty-nine, on the twenty-second of the month of February, at the twenty-first hour (9:00 pm), before us, Francesco Cali, Mayor, officer of civil vital records in the Community of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, district of Castroreale, Province of Messina, appeared Andrea Tracia, age fifty, by profession a farm laborer, citizen living in the rural hamlet of Centineo, and Antonino Genovese, age fifty, by profession the same, citizen living there, both of whom declared that, on the twenty-first day of the stated month at the fourth hour (4:00 am), died, in the house of his usual dwelling, Pietro Miano, age fifty, widower of Natala Bambaci, born in the said community, by profession a farm laborer, living in the place stated above, in Centineo, son of deceased Mariano, by profession stated already, living in the above place, and [son] of deceased Fortunata Genovese, living in the same place.

To obey the law, we visited together with the witnesses of the deceased person, and we witnessed that he was in all effects dead. We therefore have formed the present act, which has been written in both records, and the same was read to the witnesses, yes, on the same day, month, and year stated above by us, and signed by us, the stated declarers not knowing how to write.
